The Balcony room has its own personal sea facing balcony with wonderful sea views.The dining room is floored in ash whilst 2 of the upstairs rooms are floored in solid maple.The downstairs bedrooms are floored in solid chestnut.Breakfast ingredients are all locally sourced including the famous stornoway black pudding.We have a wet room to dry off wet clothes etc..

The Hal o' the Wynd is a large white painted three storey building dating back some three hundred plus years and has a lot of historical interest. The building is located opposite the ferry terminal and across the road from the vehicle entrance and exit of the terminal on Newton Street Stornoway.Newton Street was once known as Captains Row and is mentioned in the book - A shilling for your scowl - the history of a Scottish legal mafia by James Shaw Grant.The house has three large ensuite and two large standard bedrooms. All rooms have a sea view and panoramic views of Lews Castle grounds and beyond to Arnish point. It also has a well laid out dining room. All rooms are centrally heated with individual thermostatic control; and also have colour text televisions tea and coffee making facilities.The town centre is just a few minutes walk where you will find the bus station - which boasts an excellent service to all major attractions on the island.
