Kilmichael House in Drumnadrochit (Near LOCH NESS) is a lovely Victorian House set back from the road standing alone in its own grounds surrounded by giant Redwood Sequoia trees. In days gone by the house was the home of the village doctor and his surgery was in a shed to the rear of the property (still standing today). Today Kilmichael House has been sympathetically converted into a very comfortable home from home in the highlands with many of the period features of the public rooms retained i.e. window shutters fireplaces arch ways and last but not least the open reception hall with a rather nice elegant staircase to the first floor.Kilmichael House is fully centrally heated with ample car parking and is NON SMOKING THROUGHOUT THE PROPERTY. All four bedrooms are located on the first floor and either have garden views or views across open fields to the hills beyond. They also offer flexible accommodation options three are en-suite whilst the fourth (small double) has its own separate private bathroom. All the bedrooms are bright and tastefully furnished and equipped with beverage trays mineral water hairdryers flat screen free sat TVDVDRADIO (small selection of DVD's are available for guests) and free wi-fi internet access. For guests staying 3 nights or more goody trays are included. Please note that our family room can also be used for twindouble occupancy - availabilityprice on request. Visitors should be aware that we operate a strict NO FOOD policy in our bedrooms premises other than what we provide on our beverage trays nor do we provide cooking facilities. Set yourself up for the day with a great breakfast from our varied breakfast menu - full Scottish scrambled eggs and smoked salmon fresh seasonal fruit vegetarian options cereals and fresh fruit juice (not from concentrate). where ever possible I use fresh localScottish free rangeorganic produce i.e. big eggs from Nairn (some times we get the odd single yoke!!) Black Isle bread award winning Stornoway black pudding sausages from Perth and last but not least my own homemade jamsmarmalades and oatcakes.For wallkers and cyclists we are about 500 metres from the Great Glen Way and dryingstorage facilities are available.For all our visitors the centre of the village is no more than half a mile away and you can enjoy traditional bill of fayre from Scotland's larder in the warm friendly surroundings of Fiddlers Restaurant and award winning Malt Whisky Bar (over 600 to choose from - you could be there a while!). A little further away is the Loch Ness Inn where once again good food and friendly staff are waiting to look after you. If real ales are your tipple then the Benleva is the place to be (also popular with the locals).
