There are numerous other castles and National Trust properties within a short drive as is the lovely wild coastline and Holy Island. With 7 traditionally furnished en-suite bedrooms a private car park comfortable bar and a newly refurbished restaurant the Queens Head is an ideal base to explore this varied County. Walking fishing shooting golf cycling or just idling whatever your thing is we can help you enjoy your stay. The Queens Head is noted for its excellent home cooked food. Using the best of local and seasonal produce we have built an enviable reputation so whether you choose something from the daily blackboard or the a la carte menu you will not be disappointed. Breakfast will set you up for the whole day with fresh fruit yoghurts cereals and muesli followed by a cooked breakfast choose from scrambled eggs with smoked salmon eggs Benedict Kippers with a potato scone or the full Northumbrian Grill with toast and preserves. We aim to make your stay comfortable and welcoming without being intrusive. There is a private lounge away from the bar if you just want to read the papers in peace and quiet but the locals are friendly and the Beer is excellent (as is the wine..) so we hope you can visit us in Rothbury soon.
