The M6 motorway together with the A66 trunk road from the motorway to the west coast makes road communication very easy. An excellent main line service is available from nearby Workington to Carlisle the cathedral city 25 miles away and there are regular connecting bus services to most parts of Cumbria and the Lake District. The town boasts a castle and two rivers - the Cocker (from which the town derives its name) and the Derwent both ideal for salmon and trout fishing. Cockermouth's most famous son is the great William Wordsworth and his former residence is a fine local attraction. If you're looking for an active holiday you really will be spoilt for choice. Building is 200 years old with loads of characterin traditional Lakeland town. On entering the building warm modern style front bar area which leads to reception area on first floor. All rooms have key cards for added security. All rooms are decorated in boutique style and are of good size. We have 4 single rooms that share two shower areas. The rest are King size double and twin all with en suites.All the rooms are individually styled to different themes.We have secure private parking at rear of building. The business is family run to a high standard of cleanliness and efficiency. There is a good sized night club area at rear which is open Friday and Saturday nights.We have 13 rooms at front of the building and four to the rear.
