When we first saw Dolffanog Fach we immediately felt an affinity with its charm character and superb setting. Traditional stone and slate combines with an indulgent contemporary internal decor giving an unmistakeable 21st century feel - stylish modern comfortable and affordable. In winter there are roaring log fires and in summer the delightful gardens to enjoy. All our rooms are tastefully simple with a contemporary feel exuding quality taste and warmth and are named after local mountains and rivers. All our quilts and pillows are Polish Goose down all our linen is crisp white Egyptian cotton. Sleep quality is assured with our memory foam mattresses.Dolffanog Fach is set in a walker's paradise with everything from a gentle stroll around the lake to a full day's climb up Cader Idris. Step out from our front door and you are surrounded by footpaths that entice you to explore. For the cyclist several dedicated routes run past us and the internationally renowned mountain biking centre at Coed y Brenin is close by. Back at Dolffanog Fach relax in our Finnish sauna in the large garden or by the fire.A delicious three-course dinner is always available. Enjoy freshly prepared local or home-grown organic produce freshly cooked and served in the intimate candlelit atmosphere of our slate-floored dining room. The Minffordd Hotel in Talyllyn valley Mid Wales is set in probably the most breathtaking scenery in Britain and is situated at the base of the Cader Idris with the summit being 1 12 miles NW of the hotel. The original parts of the building are over 400 years old so as you might expect the walls are very thick and there are plenty of originally features such as the original wood beams which can be seen throughout the building and our log fire which is a key feature during the winter months. We have 2 lounges available for guest to relax in at any time of the day maybe after dinner with a glass or two of your favourite drink from our extensively well stocked bar. Our restaurant seats a maximum of twenty people for dinner therefore reservations are essential to guarantee you a table especially at weekends. Breakfast is also served here with a selection of fresh fruit cereals and fruit juices full breakfasts are cooked freshly to order. .......................... We are ideally situated at the base of CADER IDRIS Mountain here in southern SNOWDONIA and a vast majority of guests are walkers and stay with us due to our location and easy access to the MINFFORDD PATH which is 5 minutes from our front door............................ We are also on the mach loop which is famous with plane spotters and photographers who also stay with us to view the low flying RAF aircraft that can be seen most days flying down the valley.................... Due to our scenic mountain location we are also favourite with landscapes and wildlife photographers who visit us to enjoy the fabulous scenery and wildlife. There are various golf courses ( Aberdovey Harlech Dolgellau Machynlleth ) locally and fishing (coarse game and sea) is also widely available locally........................ FURTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION.................... We do not issue front door keys and the front door is locked at 12 midnight................Pets are only allowed in 2 downstairs bedrooms rooms a twin and a double if these are taken then pets will not be permitted in any other bedroom please check before making the reservation with us to avoid any disappointments. ....................... We served food daily from 12noon 9pm don't forget to make your table reservation if required...................... WE DO NOT HAVE TV IN THE HOTEL AS WE CANNOT RECEIVE A SIGNAL DUE TO OUR RURAL MOUNTAINOUS LOCATION............................Wi-Fi Is only available in the Bar Area and is free of charge.
