John has been a chef for some 20 years and trained in some of the finest restaurants across the country before becoming a head chef in his own rights. Kelly joined ranks in 2006 becoming John's front of house and after re-establishing a country pub together in Leicester moved to Guyhirn in 2008 to take on The Oliver Twist. With our team of chefs trained in traditional cuisine our main focus is on quality and we strive to use only the finest ingredients by using locally sourced produce and where possible this produce is free range. We are currently using pedigree Gloucester Old Spots from the Pig Pad at Ramsay Heights for all of our pork products from the traditional breakfast sausages to our more mouth-watering A la Carte dishes. Our Prime Steaks and other Beef dishes are prepared using free range Long Horn Cattle reared at Spinney Farm in Wicken Fen. We are keen to keep the traditional pub feel alive and on a Sunday we offer the Traditional Sunday Roast with a couple of alternatives to ensure we cater for a varied customer base. We are also proud of our dessert menu which boasts a majority of homemade puddings from the traditional to the more tempting. We also try to match our quality with drinks to compliment our meals. John has been passionate about keeping real ales for the past 10 years and has won the Masters of Beer Award which is the highest award given by Everards Brewery. Our varied wine menu is dictated by the ever changing economy. To ensure affordable quality we provide a variety of wines from all over the world. With every different personality catered for we have the casual setting of our friendly Country Pub lounge area or the more romantic feel of our separate restaurant. Both dining areas help to ensure your experience with us is as unique as the customers themselves.
