Langley Wood House is the Dower House of the magnificent 3000 acre Hamptworth Estate. Situated on the northern edge of the New Forest National Park and originally dating from 1750 the house is surrounded by the Langley Wood National Nature Reserve a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest to which there is direct access from the formal gardens.The house has been in the Anderson family for 200 years. Your hosts Guy and Justine have young children and their two dogs compliment the team.Internally the house boasts a beautiful wood panelled hall leading to the Drawing Room Library and Dining Room all of which retain the Edwardian character.The bedrooms all have immaculate en-suite bath or shower rooms with the choice of superking king double or twin beds beautifully furnished whilst providing all the modern touches one would expect. A ground floor bedroom is available for disabled or elderly guests.Whilst we do not have specific family rooms babies toddlers and children are most welcome.Wi fi is available and there is ample parking with the additional use of kennels if required. Please note however that deer roam freely in the garden and surrounding woodland and therefore dogs require supervision when outside !On arrival at Langley Wood tea is served in the Drawing Room or on the terrace weather permitting.A breakfast of cereals fruit yoghurt toast and homemade preserves coffeetea and juices is followed by a hearty cooked breakfast which is sourced locally. Breakfast may also be taken on the terrace during the summer months.The Hamptworth estate includes a Championship Golf course wonderful woodland walks country sport opportunities and many regular events such as open air plays opera evenings plant fairs and country shows.
