The Ecoteer Community and Conservation Project is a voluntourism project based in the tropical paradise of Perhentian Island. Located in the midst of a traditional Malay Muslim village you will have a memorable cultural experience. The project runs various projects which you will get involve in for example three weekly after-school clubs for the local primary school children - Eco-Snorkel Club on Tuesday English Club on Wednesday and Environmental Club on Friday. Other time you will also help out in composting and recycling projects beachvillage clean up and basic construction work like mural and house painting. All guests will experience a Malay dinner with a local family in their home and have the chance to integrate with the village children. PLEASE NOTE: the village is 100% Islamic and as such alcohol is forbidden. All meals are provided with a soft drink.
