Villa Fiorenzi Martorelli Damiani is a splendid 15th Century villa originally owned by Florentine Nobility. Guido Carocci the Florentine historian who kept records of the events taking place between the 19th and 20th centuries reported that the manor was originally the noble's residence of the Macinghi family who had held the lordship of Florence and thereafter also the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. A 17th century document archived at the San Martino Parish annals in Carcheri relates that the manor then passed under the ownership of the Florentine Del Chiaro family who retained its ownership until 1742 when it was purchased by the Gaetani a family originally from the Lazio that could boast two popes among their members. In the 19th century the owner would seem to have been Colonel Agostino di Crescenzio Staccoli who probably received the manor as part of an inheritance.
