Casa do Paço is located on a farm of five acres on top of a small valley cut into terraces a few miles from Paredes de Coura. Its name is due to the fact that it had experienced over four centuries illustrious families and linked to the United Church as D. Antonio Mendes de Carvalho 1st Bishop of Elvas who was born here in 15 21.The original house dating from the sixteenth century little remains and the moth and the solar genuine eighteenth-century architecture giving it some mystery and nobility. Despite the noble characteristics the house has a rustic feel by inserting a farm where agricultural activities have always been crucial to the lives of people who lived here.
