But also our guests also find the cottage well equipped warm and comfortable which is reflected in our recent 3 rating. Newtonmore is a traditional highland village with a long and colourful history: visitors can learn more at the Highland folk museum or Clan Macpherson museums located in the village. There is also an annual highland games and clan gathering in August as well as weekly shinty matches. Today it depends on agriculture and tourism. We have 3 cottages which each sleep 1-4 people; these can be booked individually or together for groups. Layout is different in each one has a double bedroom one a family room with king size and single beds and one twin beds. Each has a shower room toilet fully equipped kitchen and dining area. There is shared use of a washing machine and drying room. Free Wi-fi is available. We normally let for the week Sat- Sat but alternative start days or short breaks can also be accommodated.The area is suitable for outdoor activities including walking cycling skiing sailing fishing and lots more. It is in arguably the best area for wildlife in the UK with the unique alpine flora as well as wildlife including otters pinemartins deer and wildcats. It is also a useful base for touring the Highlands as both Fort William and Inverness can be reached easily. Good Highland fare can be obtained in the local restaurants. There is also wonderful landscape for photography or painting and fused glass classes can be taken at the cottage (additional charge).
