The local hills provide un-crowded walking in three mountain ranges and there are outstanding water-sports facilities with sailing on Bala Lake and the National Whitewater Centre nearby. There is a challenging golf course with lake views. Guided walking and canoeing is available (by arrangement) and also a library of walking guidebooks. Other outdoor activities can be arranged including whitewater rafting sailing climbing mountain biking 4x4 driving etc. Private parking locked storage for bicycles and drying room are provided.
