The town has lovely gardens and century old villas which back onto a 4 mile flat promenade running along the front. Inland but within a 15 minute walk from the hotel there is a modern indoor swimming pool with sauna and fitness centre bowling greens and tennis courts also both a 9 and 18 hole golf course are near by. There is a two screen cinema and in season occasional entertainment at The Queens Hall and the towns Burgh Hall. The resort plays host the annual Cowal Highland Gathering the biggest highland games festival anywhere in the world which takes place on the last weekend of August. Loch Lomond is about an hours drive from Dunoon and the beautiful town of Inveraray can be reached in about 50 minutes.
