Araucaria has a southern Mediterranean design with a definite European feel.There is a large informal lounge area off the kitchen with views to the ocean. In winter you can sit by the fire in the formal lounge. There are 5 bedrooms 3 with ensuites and a total of 4 bathrooms .There is a large Mediterranean style terrace with a variety of sitting and eating areas where you can take in some great views whilst enjoying a cup of tea and home made cake. Breakfast is served on the terrace in good weather and in the formal dinning room at other times.Araucaria definitely offers a truly luxurious setting for the more discerning guest. Both Byron Bay and Bangalow offer a great selection of dining and many excellent cafes. The whole area is awash with things to do and world class white sand beaches.

Drive 7 kilometres to Byron Bay and the beaches. Whale watching here gets better every year. Dolphins abound, the snorkelling just off local beaches is a personal reccomendation as well. Not to mention the ever expanding shopping - the arts and industrial estate is well worth exploring while you are here.
The hills around Byron are full of galleries, cafe's, a waterfall or two. Macadamia Castle is great for the little ones. Did I mention the brilliant Byron market which is the 1st Sunday of each month.
There are numerous classic beaches for surfing, swimming or just relaxing on.
Byron has a huge range of restauarants, galleries, clubs, pubs a golf course .... the list goes on and on, something for everyone, or quiet spaces if you just need to chill.

Self-contained timber cottages nestled in rainforest on a stunning 300-acre property overlooking Byron Bay and hinterland. Only 5 min drive (7kms) from the heart of Byron Bay its beaches and historic Bangalow village. The cottages all have private verandahs overlooking the lake heritage rainforest and rolling farmland. The 1-bedroom cottage has a queen bed in the bedroom. The 1-bedroom family cottage has a queen single and trundle bed in the bedroom. All 1-bedroom cottages have an ensuite bathroom kitchen and open-plan loungedining area. 2-bedroom cottages have a queen bed in the master bedroom and two single beds (and a single trundle bed) in the second bedroom. All cottages have high ceilings with fans oil heaters digital TV and DVD player. The kitchens have all the crockery cutlery and utensils you will need for as long as you wish to stay. The kitchens have a gas cooktop (no oven) microwave and fridgefreezer. Wood-fired BBQ facilities are also situated at various points around the cottages farm and lake. There is a laundry with a washing machine tub iron and ironing board. The lake is suitable for swimming and there is a rowboat canoe and kayak available free to use with lifejackets provided. You can also try your luck fishing in the lake for Australian Bass. The cottages are rated at 3.5 stars and have ther own individual rainwater tanks for drinking water. Landscaped native rainforest gardens separate each cottage. You can spend your time wandering the farm talking to the cows goats and chickens meandering in the rainforest or walking up an old cedar cutters track to spectacular ocean and lighthouse views.(This one is a favourite of ours at sunset and full moon).
